Castle was founded in 1981, when Dave and John Passey pursued the sale of residential garage doors. During the Passey brothers’ ownership, the company went by the name of Castle Doors and was located in the city of Escondido, California, north of San Diego. In 1993, the Passey brothers sold the company to Terry Holmes and Doug Brundage. Terry ran the business on a day-to-day basis, while Doug Brundage was with the contracting firm of Darmor Development. Also working for Doug Brundage at Darmor Development was a young man by the name of John Paddock. John had been with Darmor Development for 18 years and had advanced to project supervisor. He was so liked by his boss, that in October of 1994 Doug gave his share of Castle Doors to John Paddock who then bought out the other half from Terry Holmes, renamed it Castle Garage Doors, Inc. and was off and running. Since then the company has expanded by adding fireplace and custom gate divisions to their expertise in beautifying your existing or new home. John Paddock’s “hands on” approach to his business and hard working employees in administration, sales, installation, and service has earned Castle Garage Doors, Inc., its reputation that is unequaled in the industry today. At the end of 2005 Castle Garage Doors was sold to a family member, Jared Willard. Jared Willard worked with Castle Garage Doors for 11 years helping build the reputation we have today.
